Section 342 of the Crimes Act 1900 explains that conspiracies to commit offences against the justice system remain in place despite the replacement of a range of public justice offences by offences under the Act, and reads as follows:

The abolition of the common law offence of conspiring to pervert the course of justice does not prevent a prosecution for an offence of conspiring to commit an offence against this Part.
