Free Palestine and Free Lebanon Rally

A massive crowd turned out before Sydney Town Hall on Gadigal land on Sunday 29 September for the 51st week of the Free Palestine rally, which means Israel has continued the mass slaughter and starvation of the Palestinians of Gaza for almost a year now.

And this last week has further seen the Netanyahu government running an assault upon the people of southern Lebanon with the same unbridled frenzy it set upon Gaza a year ago, after it first launched terror attacks the Lebanon using commercial goods the week prior.

Netanyahu was at the UN in New York on Friday to address the room despite continuing to carry out a genocide and much of the globe’s representatives walked out during his speech. Yet some stayed, like Australian foreign minister Penny Wong.

And around that same time, Netanyahu ordered the assassination of Hezbollah secretary general Hassan Nasrallah in the Lebanese capital of Beirut and in order to achieve this, Israel destroyed multiple residential buildings with all the people in them.

On Sunday, there was much grief in the crowd before the town hall in Sydney’s CBD over these recent developments. But there was also much will to resist. Sydney Criminal Lawyers was on the ground to take part in the Free Palestine-Free Lebanon rally on Gadigal.
