Tania Durham

Tania Durham is a Senior Criminal Defence Lawyer with vast experienced inside the courtroom as well as the inner workings of the criminal justice system.

Tania commenced her legal career as a courtroom advocate with the Aboriginal Legal Services, representing marginalised clients in a broad range of cases, such as assaults and AVOs, drug offences, sexual offences and traffic cases, developing a strong reputation as an effective advocate in an array of hearings including bail applications, section 14 mental health applications, sentencing hearings and committal hearings.

She became known as an exceptional defence lawyer and skilled negotiator, consistently persuading police and prosecutors to withdraw or downgrade criminal charges and achieving outstanding results inside the courtroom.

Tania was then accepted to the highly sought-after position of Associate for a District Court Judge, where she worked closely with a highly respected judge presiding over serious and complex criminal cases. In that position, she was privy to discussions between judges and thereby able to gain insight into preferred presentation styles and effective persuasion, which has been invaluable in further developing her ability to achieve positive results for her clients.
