Antisemitism Threat to Australia: A ‘Complex Criminal Con-job’

We published an article on 3 February 2025 asserting that the incidents used by the mainstream media and politicians to generate the hysteria used to justify enacting antisemitism specific criminal offences had nothing to do with antisemitism at all – but were perpetrated by local criminals at the behest of foreign actors to achieve the latter’s ideological objectives.
The manufactured hysteria has indeed achieved these purposes – with the federal government not only creating and funding a new position of Antisemitism Envoy and enacting Commonwealth criminal offences limited to antisemitic conduct, but announcing $32.5 million in funding for the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, $8.5 million in funding for Sydney Jewish Museum, increasing funding for Holocaust education by $6.4 million and making clear it will do all it can to support Jewish causes, and come down hard upon supposed ‘antisemitism threats’.
Meanwhile, the New South Wales government has, in addition to also enacting antisemitism-specific criminal offences, announced $200,000 in funding for Sydney’s Jewish House, with premier Chris Minns announcing through a media release on 21 February 2025:
“The recent attacks on the Jewish community have no place in our society. These acts are deeply distressing and we’re working around the clock to make sure those responsible face the full force of the law while supporting the community with essential services like these.
“This funding will see Jewish House expand its support services, providing guidance, practical advice and emotional care to the community.”
Double-standard
Meanwhile, the 580% increase in Islamophobic incidents over recent months – which have included everything from bigoted attacks to threats of mass murder – have been met with relative ‘radio silence’ – with no position of Islamophobia envoy being introduced, no specific offences against Islamophobia being enacted and little if any funding being invested in initiatives to combat Islamophobic incidents or support the Islamic community.
A ‘complex criminal con-job’
Yesterday, the New South Wales Police Force and Australian Federal Police simultaneously executed 11 search warrants on five premises across the Sydney Metropolitan Area, arresting and charging 14 people in relation to the spate of incidents – such as explosives in a caravan, arson attacks, destroying or damaging property and graffiti offences – which were used to manufacture antisemitism hysteria and facilitate the said enacting of offences and provisions of millions in funding.
The defendants are facing Waverley Local Court in Sydney’s eastern suburbs this morning.
According to police, none of those arrested harbour antisemitic tendencies, but are part of what was described on ABC radio this morning as a ‘complex criminal con-job’, orchestrated by an ‘unnamed local organised crime figure’ at the behest of foreign actors.
Indeed, this alleged ‘con-job’ has thoroughly achieved what can logically be presumed to have been its objectives – to combat and divert from pro-Palestinian sentiment arising from the atrocities perpetrated by the Israeli state in Gaza, to foster sympathy towards Jewish people in general and the Zionist cause in particular and, in doing so, to enjoy the benefits of resulting mainstream media and government support such as the injection of millions of taxpayer dollars into pro-Jewish initiatives, causes and institutions, as well as criminal offences which only encompass antisemitic conduct.
So, what now?
In light of the predicted (and very predictable) ‘revelations’ regarding what can fairly be described as the ‘antisemitism hoax’, will the mainstream media be investing as much vigour and zest into exposing the situation and asking important questions as it has attempting to manufacture antisemitic incidents such as the appalling ‘undercover Jew’ stunt perpetrated by The Daily Telegraph staff at Cairo Takeaway in Sydney? Will politicians be changing their inflammatory rhetoric, policy objectives and investment initiatives to fit the facts?
We doubt it.
It seems confirmation bias towards Jewish and Zionist causes is well and truly at play here – and the recent revelations will do little or nothing to change the situation.
