The Summary Offences Act 1988 (NSW) contains many less-serious criminal offences that can only be dealt with in the Local Court (for Adults) or Childrens Court (for Children).
However, it is important to be aware that you can still receive a life-long criminal conviction for these offences.
It is therefore important to seek representation from experienced criminal lawyers who can maximise your chances of:
- Successfully defending your Summary Offences Act charge, or
- If you wish to plead ‘guilty’, getting you a ‘section 10 dismissal or conditional release order‘ – which means no criminal conviction.
