Sydney Criminal Lawyers® has yet again convinced police to drop all proceedings against a man charged with assault – this time for our 27 year old client from Hurlstone Park who was charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Common Assault.
Police alleged that our client assaulted a staff member at Oportos in Newtown by punching him several times to the nose, left cheek and back-left side of the head, causing him to fall to the ground.
The incident resulted in bruising to the staff member’s left eye and red marks to the left side of his face.
Our defence team gathered witness statements and wrote a detailed letter to the Local Area Commander at Newtown Police Station arguing that our client was acting in self-defence.
All proceedings were then dropped and our client avoids having to go to a defended hearing.
